Mr WONG Kam Fai (Uncle Fai), BBS, MH, President of WKF Charity and Education Foundation, was born in 1923 in Shipai, Dongguan. He was forced to drop out of primary school at the height of war. In 1963,  Uncle Fai established Kum Shing and had been leading it with the spirit of sincerity, integrity and commitment since then. His determination to serve the community with best performance not only laid a solid foundation for the long-term development of the company, but has also become a core value upheld by each member of Kum Shing.

Uncle Fai actively participated in charitable works after handing over the reins of his business to Mr KK Wong in 1985. He had an impressive record of public service and had been at the helm of numerous community and charitable organizations, such as Scout Association of Hong Kong and The Community Chest. In recognition of Uncle Fai’s contribution towards the development of society, he was awarded Medal of Honour and Bronze Bauhinia Star by the HKSAR Government successively.

Uncle Fai firmly believed that education is the key pillar of the country’s development; he initiated a project to fund the construction of educational institutions and established bursaries for children. In 20 years’ time, more than 100 schools have been built in remote and impoverished areas across the mainland. Moreover, Uncle Fai was keen to support the development of education in Hong Kong; he donated to Hong Kong Baptist University for the building of HKBUAS WKF Secondary and Primary School and established scholarships in higher education institutions.

An ardent hometown booster, Uncle Fai promoted investment opportunities in Dongguan to Hong Kong entrepreneur, and took the lead in sponsoring healthcare, educational, and community facilities.
